The Forsyth Story: Meet Our Favorite Charities

Here at Forsyth Realty, our motto is “Home Grown. Local Experience. Global Connections.” We take those words to heart in everything that we do—not just buying and selling homes!

After an illustrious career at larger brokerage firms, our founder Eleanor Bell aimed to offer her clients a Triad-focused real estate experience while also giving back to the community. Today, Forsyth Realty’s goals remain the same…and we still take the time to support our favorite charities. Here are a few that are close to our hearts!

Forsyth Realty’s Favorite Charities & Organizations

Want to get involved in the Triad community? These organizations could always use your help…and you’d be supporting a great cause.

Mandie’s Miles

Woman running while supporting favorite charities

Mandie’s Miles is a local organization founded in honor of Mandie, a Triad-area teenager who recently passed away from cancer. All proceeds from their events go to support the Brenner Pediatric Brain Tumor Program, which features a state-of-the-art collaborative treatment plan for patients.

Winston Salem Street School

Students graduating school

This alternative high school offers refuge for at-risk children and allows them to flourish in a safe environment. Their low 12:1 student teacher ratio creates an individualized learning experience for every student, and over 200 graduates have successfully completed the program over the last 15 years.

Habitat for Humanity

Habitat for Humanity is an international organization that aims to build houses for those who need them the most. Since 1985, the Forsyth County branch has completed over 350 homes, as well as hundreds of smaller repairs. They also have youth empowerment and education programs to help children within the Triad.

First Tee of the Triad

Woman learning to golf

First Tee of the Triad teaches children life skills through golf, and their comprehensive four-level program has something for everyone. After completing the classes, participants will learn core values, healthy habits, career development tips, and much more. You can even volunteer to be an instructor or donate your old golf equipment to the cause!

Ronald McDonald House

People supporting favorite charities

You’re probably already familiar with the cheerful McDonald’s mascot, but did you know he’s also the spokesman for a fantastic charity? The Ronald McDonald House of Winston-Salem offers a “home-away-from-home” for families of children who are receiving medical care in our community. You can support the organization by donating supplies, preparing a meal, or by working directly with families in need.

Sawtooth Center

Pottery class

Since its founding in 1945, the Sawtooth School for Visual Art remains a creative hub for all of Winston-Salem. Here, students of all ages can take classes in ceramics, painting, woodworking, photography, and so much more. Be sure to check out their classes and make a donation!
